Why are you blocking my access?Access is blocked to ports that are commonly used for remote attacks, thus providing a level of protection to the end user. In the most part the ports that are blocked are never used for legitimate traffic.Back to top |

Will my mail server continue to work?No, you will need to disable, at a minimum, the SMTP part of the EscapeNet firewall.Back to top |

Will this affect my game?Most games will not use ports that are blocked by our basic filter.Back to top |

Do I still need a firewall?The port filtering is only a basic security measure, a firewall is a lot more comprehensive. We suggest you invest in the EscapeNet Internet Security Suite.Back to top |

Program X stopped working, what now?Check if the program is question is using one of the blocked ports, if so try and configure the program to use a different port number, or use the control panel to disable the firewall.Back to top |

I use webmail to access my email?Yes you can as webmail does not work on any of the affected ports.Back to top |
